Freelance stylist Viola Arrivabene grew up on the majestic Grand Canal in Venice, surrounded by its endlessly inspiring colours, culture, art and architecture. Since moving to London, she has brought a piece of the city with her by launching a line of super-chic and brightly-coloured Venetian furlane slippers – which are traditionally worn by gondoliers –
called ViBi Venezia with her sister Vera. Here she shares her beloved Italian hotspots and her style formula.

When I’m there, I wake up at 7am to go explore the city before it gets too crowded. I love to just walk around and take in the architecture. I go to places like Burano – a small island that has all these beautiful colourful houses.
So I need clothes that suit my lifestyle. Borgo De Nor dresses are ‘busy schedule dresses’ – they work across day and night. You can wear them from a breakfast meeting right through to the small hours! They look great with my ViBis and Superga trainers by day and are really elegant with heels for a special occasion or a wedding.

Simple and chic, but with an eccentric hit.
The artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude. I love the Floating Piers which they did on Italy’s Lake Iseo two years ago.
A pair of sunglasses. They’re like a shield between you and the world. Right now, my go-tos are by L.G.R.
Make it simple but significant.
